The Hitchhikers Guide to Tapas

When thinking about Spain, one of the first things that comes to mind is tapas. Therefore, it is no surprise that the opening session at Valencia will focus on the captivating world of tapas. The presentation will explore the origin of tapas and tapas culture across various regions of Spain, including the Basque Country, Catalonia, Granada, Madrid, Valladolid, and Valencia. There will be insights into differentiating what tapas are and are not, highlighting the cultural and culinary importance of each. The session will also address the essential question of what defines a tapa, engaging in almost philosophical debates and exploring the details of this cherished Spanish culinary tradition.
